You can't do double badging, either the ford logo goes or the lettering should both looks bad

Somewhat, yes. In the same way as an Escape is a dressed up Focus. Extra plastic cladding/weight/height/marketing.

But what about Merc? They have double badging on everything! One on the hood and one in the grill.
